Edge Cheer & Dance, Inc. is the official NC State Cheerleading camp and offers cheerleading & dance camps as well as choreography and stunt camps nationwide. Edge is on its way to becoming one of the most popular and sought-after camp companies on the east coast.

Edge offers private (create-your-own custom) camps, overnight camps, college prep camps, , camps for individuals and year-round clinics. Our staff is well-trained and focused on safety while at the same time bringing out the best in you or your team. Through a fine-tuned curriculum and innovative, original material Edge Cheer & Dance delivers a camp experience that is both fun and packed with all the goods to bring out the best in you or your team.

If you are looking for choreography, we offer choreography that is truly designed to highlight your team’s strengths. NO COOKIE CUTTER ROUTINES here at Edge. Our choreographers have numerous championship titles under their belts and truly care about what your team puts on the floor.

HOW EDGE BEGAN

Edge Cheer & Dance, Inc. was officially born in 2005 but is really 29 years old. How is that possible?

It all began when Cathy Buckey, the former head cheerleading coach at North Carolina State University, led her Wolfpack team to 3 College Cheerleading National Championship titles. (On a side note, Cathy created the famous "Wolf Wall" pyramid as seen in "Bring It On" the movie!) In 1979, she started Cathy Buckey Cheerleading Camps which evolved into Champion Cheer & Dance Camps in 1986.

From 1986 to 2005, Champion trained thousands of athletes and began offering a cheerleading competition for Middle and High Schools around the Christmas holidays called “Holiday Cheers to You.” This event grew into multiple regional cheerleading competitions and then grew into the National event company, Champion Cup Nationals.

To allow for such rapid growth in the cheer event industry, Cathy decided to focus on competitions solely and sold the camp side of the Champion in 2005 to Edge Cheer & Dance, Inc., owned and operated by Andrea Baker and Mark Evans. Edge kept the same high energy Champion feel and added new camp options for any individual or team wanting a high-quality, fun, affordable cheerleading camp.
